David Smith
David has a wide range of business interests. A background as a partner in a firm of accountants in Northamptonshire, a foray into industry has seen him establish outsourcing businesses in Mumbai and Manila, together with other businesses based in the UK that provide a range of services from IT Support through to HR. Mentoring the team at Stewarts, David brings a wealth of knowledge across many sectors and adds a consultancy service to the wide range of services that can be accessed.
As a massive Sports fan, outside of work David will be seen watching live sport in a wide range of venues from professional to amateur level.
Neil McDonald
Neil qualified with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) in 2003 and with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in 2010 registering for my practising certificate in 2013. He has since become a fellow member with both organisations.
Neil enjoys working closely with clients to provide bespoke and tailored advice. With a good working knowledge in variety of industry sectors his skills to bring together business and individuals requirements means he can offer a blend of tax planning and day to day business advice.
When not at work, Neil enjoys golf, camping and kayaking.
Lesley Sherratt
Lesley has over 30 years of experience both working in practice and in industry. With a vast experience in a number of different accounts software packages including Xero, Kashflow and Sage, she heads up the business services offering. From the experience gained over the years of working with multiple styles of business and levels of skills she can assist in developing internal procedures to help achieve efficient and accurate recording of business data to help you manage your business.
Lesley is actively involved in all areas of client services and strongly believes in working with clients rather than simply working for them.
Gavin James
Gavin is a chartered certified accountant and has spent much of his career focusing on the intricacies of the UK tax system to be able to help clients with their personal and business tax affairs. At Stewarts he heads up the Personal Tax team offering guidance for individuals looking for ways to mitigate tax liabilities and plan for future events as early as possible in their personal and business lives.
When not working with clients, Gavin mixes a blend of busy family life with a fitness regime based around cycling races and football matches. His three young sons keep him busy in their own out school activities.
Debbie Maurantonio
A recent addition to the team, Debbie has developed a wealth of knowledge to help business owners grow and develop by supporting them with clear financial insight. Working in a consultative way, Debbie will spend time to understand your business needs and work with our teams to provide you information in a clear, concise way to enable you to meet your goals. Leaning towards the business coaching side of accountancy, Debbie will work with you to bring clarity to your business finances, define a clear action plan on how to become more profitable and support you whilst implementing changes internally.
Outside of work, Debbie plays Netball competitively in the Herts & Bucks Leagues for Chesham Stags and tennis at Chesham Bois.
Claire Bird
Claire is a CIPP Qualified Payroll Technician and has also completed the Certificate in Pensions Administration with the CIPP.
Responsible for the payroll department and manging the internal Human Resources her work involves both managing and processing weekly, monthly and quarterly payrolls, ensuring that these are delivered to our clients and submitted to HMRC on time under PAYE Real Time Information (RTI) legislation. Claire will also work closely with you to resolve payroll related queries, liaise with HMRC and process statutory payments such as SMP and SSP. She sets up and administers workplace pensions for employers on payroll software, as well as with pension providers and The Pensions Regulator.
Claire started her career with Stewarts is proud to be part of such a professional and motivated team. She continues to develop her skills and knowledge through training in both specialisms of payroll and human resources.
Emily Fullman
Having joined Stewarts in November 2019, pre-pandemic, Emily is embarked on the journey to become a qualified Chartered Accountant. Exams come thick and fast now that the world has opened up again and we look forward to hearing positive news as each stage is completed.
Developing her talent on day-to-day processing, year-end accounts and some personal taxation work, Emily has great client facing skills and is always available to help with queries as they arise. She enjoys working in all areas of accountancy, and helps out with payroll once in a while!
When not at work, Emily likes to spend time socialising with friends and family.
Anita Mistry
Anita joined Stewarts Accountants in February 2022 as an Office Administrator.
Her exceptional organisation and time management skills ensure that she can help maintain high levels of communication between Clients and our staff . Anita is a very positive character who looks forward to coming into the office every day to face new challenges, meeting, and greeting all clients and providing excellent customer service.
Outside of the office, Anita has travelled across the world and in Australia swam at the Great Barrier Reefs and climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
